Fair Ask is a personal portfolio piece and technical experiment, created by Garett A. Gorlitsky in his personal capacity solely to explore AI capabilities and software design. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic or any employer.
Everything on this site, including every redline, comment and other output the tool generates, is provided strictly for informational, educational and demonstration purposes. None of it is legal advice or any other professional advice. Using the site, uploading a document or contacting the developer does not create an attorney-client relationship, any other professional-client relationship, or a fiduciary duty of any kind. For advice about a specific legal issue, consult a lawyer licensed in your jurisdiction.
The tool uses artificial intelligence (large language models), which can hallucinate and can produce inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information. It may misread a contract or miss an important issue. There is no guarantee of accuracy, completeness or reliability. The site and all output are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the site or its output.
Never submit confidential, privileged, sensitive, proprietary or personally identifying information, including client documents you are not authorized to share. What you upload or send here is not protected by the attorney-client privilege, the work-product doctrine or any duty of confidentiality. Use fictional, public or fully redacted documents.
This site and its demonstration are not intended as attorney advertising or as a solicitation for legal services in any jurisdiction.
Upload a contract and get back a redline in Word and PDF: tracked changes and a short comment on each. Calibrated to what the other side can realistically accept, not a kitchen-sink markup.

Each pass has one job. The output is limited on purpose: a reviewer should get through the whole thing in 10 to 20 minutes.
Identifies the deal type, the parties and whose paper it is.
Topic-by-topic passes for risk, missing protections and one-sided terms.
Grades each ask as customary, a reasonable stretch or aggressive, and drops the aggressive ones.
Ranks by impact. Customary terms are left alone, and says so.
Minimal tracked changes with a one-line reason on each, in Word and PDF.
Proposes changes the other side could realistically accept, given the deal and each party's leverage. It doesn't assume you can rewrite the contract.
At most ten changes. The changes taken together are a fraction of the contract, and every comment is one or two lines.
The developer never sees what you upload. Documents are held in memory for two hours and never written to disk. Claude processes them through Anthropic's API, where they're treated as confidential and not used for training.
An AI-assisted first pass for lawyers. It may miss or misread terms. Review every change against the deal and your client's goals.
Questions, feedback or a contract it got wrong? Send a note to Garett A. Gorlitsky and he'll reply by email. Messages are not confidential and don't create an attorney-client relationship, so please don't include confidential information or ask for legal advice.
